Play Money Craft

Mr. Phipps visited the bank to learn about money. Now let’s make our own play money craft!

In this play money craft, we use metal washers and colored paper to create pretend money that can be used to teach kids of their own value in God.

In season 1, episode 2 of Little Image-Bearers, Mr. Phipps visits a local bank to learn about money. He has a gold coin worth $60 and he withdraws $60 from the bank to compare how they look. The biblical lesson of the episode is that because God made us (Psalm 139:13-14) , we have intrinsic value, and we are worth far more than any amount of money.

To help kids understand money a little better, Mr. Phipps takes the time to make his own money out of metal washers and paper, and pretends to purchase a Bible. As your kids have fun making their own money, use this time to teach them that while money is important and valuable, they are even MORE important and valuable because of the value God placed in them.

Supplies

  • Metal washers
  • Various colors of paper (pre-cut for younger children)
  • Scissors
  • Glue stick
  • Marker

Instructions

Trace around the metal washer on a piece of paper, then cut out the circle. Repeat so that you have two circles of the exact same size.

Glue one circle on one side of the coin, and the other circle on the other side.

Using the marker, write your desired amount on the coin (1, 5, 10, 25).

Start spending your “money”!

This play money craft is easy to make and demonstrates to kids the value of money, which gives you a great starting point to talk about their own value. We hope you and your kids enjoy it!

Create your own paper bag puppet craft and design it any way you want, just like God designed you. Tune in to Little Image-Bearers to see this craft and more!

In season 1, episode 1 of Little Image-Bearers, Mr. Phipps created and designed a paper bag puppet. The biblical lesson of the episode is that God designed each one of us perfectly, from our eyes and nose, down to our feet and toes, and all the way through to our heart and mind. We truly are made in the image of God (Genesis 1:27).

With that in mind, Mr. Phipps created a puppet out of a paper bag, taking time to give the puppet features such as eyes, a nose, a tongue, ears, and even buttons and a bow tie. He designed the puppet just like he wanted him – just like God designed us just like He wanted us. As your kids enjoy the paper bag puppet craft, use this time to teach them that God formed them, created them, and put so much care and detail into them…all because He loves them!

Introducing Little Image-Bearers

Now introducing Little Image-Bearers!

Little Image-Bearers is a faith-based children’s show designed for children ages 2-8

Little Image-Bearers is a faith-based children’s show designed for children ranging from ages 2-8. Each episode introduces an interesting and unique item to explore, a simple puppet pretend story, and a fun “try it yourself” project. Each aspect of the show is designed to point towards a biblical concept discussed at the end of the episode.

The first season of Little Image-Bearers is seven episodes long, and covers the following biblical concepts: being made in the image of God, intrinsic value, self-worth, aiming for the mark that God has set before us, knowing God as our Creator, right and wrong, having a standard for our choices, and valuing what is on the inside of a person. Though the series is simple, it is designed to have a calming and peaceful effect on children while sharing the powerful truths of God’s Word.

The show features Mr. Caleb Phipps as the host. A father of young children himself, he understands how to relate to children on their level without watering down the Word of God. His heart shines through in each episode as he invites the viewers into his living room to have fun learning, exploring, and discovering who God is.

Since children from different walks of life will be enjoying Little Image-Bearers, the experiments and items to explore will introduce many of them to new concepts. They will investigate playdough, a genuine gold coin, an original painting, a ruler, a fire starter, batteries, bows and arrows, and much more with Mr. Phipps.

In each episode, viewers will enjoy going into puppet pretend to have fun with the show’s other main characters, Bobo Bear and Lala Redhead. These loveable puppets are the comedic relief of the show, yet they also present and reinforce the biblical concepts in a different and entertaining way. While the puppets have adventures such as making a volcano and building tables, they also learn lessons about valuing what’s on the inside and realizing that your worth isn’t in what you do or don’t do. With important lessons and endearing characters, puppet pretend is sure to be a favorite segment of both young and old viewers alike.

Creativity and learning are a big part of Little-Image Bearers. Throughout the first season, viewers will learn how to grow salt crystals, design a coloring page, and make their own play money. They will also create their own puppet, paint a picture, connect the dots, and learn how to shoot rubber bands at a target. Each of these fun projects also go right along with the faith-based lesson of the episode.

Little Image-Bearers is a show for all ages, but it is made especially for the little Image-Bearers.
